It’s now time to begin planning for our 34th Courage Award’s event.
Schools were asked to give their views on the necessary change to this year’s event. 75% of those who responded preferred an evening event, and so that is what we are going with.
As you know it is always a moving occasion, and an inspiration to the young people who are honoured with their participation and to their parents, and all the civic and business guests who support the luncheon.
The 2025 event will be held on Tuesday 11th March at Portland College.
The timetable will follow a tried and tested routine as follows:-
6pm Guests arrive.
6.30pm Dinner
7.15 pm Welcome by the President of Mansfield Rotary
7.20 pm Introduction of Nominees
8.30 pm Photographs and Close
Our President, Phil Lyons, has invited local schools and colleges to put forward a nominee. There is no outright winner. Each nominee will have equal status and will receive his or her own individual award.
In selecting nominee’s Mansfield Rotary has asked that consideration is given to the challenges that the individual has faced and overcome in terms of any physical or environmental or mental problems. Students who are nominated exemplify the moral and spiritual courage required in the face of such personal adversity and difficulty.
Mansfield Rotary will bear the cost of the lunch in respect of the nominee, his or her parents and a representative from the school or college who incidentally are expected to give a short 2-minute introduction of the nominee during the presentations. Tickets are available at a cost of £20 per person. Anyone requiring tickets or additional information should contact stewart@rickersey.net
A reply asap but no later than Friday 17th January would be helpful to assist in the forward planning.
