Rotary Sponsored Bike Ride 2019

Rotarian Cate Hunt and Maldwyn Johnson will be cycling 120 miles over two days, from Mansfield to Scarborough to attend Rotary District Conference 2019 in aid of local charities:

Mansfield Young Carers, Mansfield Music & Drama Festival and Rotary Ambassadors for Deaf and Hearing Impaired.

Maldwyn is a regular cyclist who enjoys cycling in the Peak District, as well as an annual long distance ride in the UK and Europe. However, Cate has not ridden a bike for over 30 years and has discovered that the old saying "once you have learnt to ride a bike you never forget" just isnt true! Despite scrapes, bruises and punctures, Cate is making progress and is at least now staying upright. She is determined to succeed, with the thought that all her efforts will go towards helping groups of local people.

£1,000 cheque presented to King's Mill

Rotarians at our meeting on Tuesday 6th August 2019 are pleased to hand over a cheque for £1000 to King's Mill Hospital

towards their Gamma Scanner Appeal.

The money came from our Benevolent Account where money has

been raised by various fund raising events

over the course of the past year.

The scanner will enable more than 2,000 patients each year

to have advanced scans and revolutionise

how they are diagnosed and treated.
